When You Bring a Brit to the South

May 15, 2019May 15, 20192 Comments

In case you don’t know, my boyfriend, Nick, is British. We met when I was doing my master’s degree in England and have been dating long-distance for about nine months now. Long-distance is tough for sure, but we make it work by seeing each other as often as possible. We most recently got to see … Continue reading When You Bring a Brit to the South

New Year’s Eve in Tongyeong

January 6, 2019Leave a comment

I’ve never been much of a NYE person. I don’t mind celebrating with close friends and a few drinks but I would much rather prefer a quite evening over a wild NYE party. This year, I had nothing planned. In fact, I was debating on if it was even worth staying up to midnight or … Continue reading New Year’s Eve in Tongyeong

Chiang Mai

November 18, 2018November 18, 20182 Comments

I bought my bus ticket to Chiang Mai on a whim. I booked the ticket through the hostel and, at around 6 pm, a man picked me up to take me to the "bus station". I got into a van and we drove around the corner (I literally could have walked there) at which point … Continue reading Chiang Mai

On Top of Seoul – Hiking Baegundae Peak

October 28, 20181 Comment

Not many cities in the world can claim they are home to a national park. But Seoul is one of the few that can. Bukhansan National Park lies within the greater Seoul metropolitan area, providing a green escape to the 25 some million people that live in this massive urban environment. Because of its location … Continue reading On Top of Seoul – Hiking Baegundae Peak

Hiking Seoul City Wall

October 24, 20181 Comment

Hands down, my favorite adventure in South Korea so far has been hiking Seoul City Wall. Snaking 18.6 kilometers through neighborhoods and over hills, Seoul City Wall was originally built over 600 years ago to defend the city from invasion. Today, the wall is still mostly intact and footpaths have been built along most sections … Continue reading Hiking Seoul City Wall

Thankful for all the people, from Miami to Philadelphia to Tallahassee, who have helped me get back on my feet the past few months. Peace Corps didn’t work out, but when one door closes another one opens and I’m super excited to be starting a new job in Washington D.C! Check out my new blog post (link in bio) for the full update!
Doesn’t get more American than baseball, hot dogs and a $15 beer 🇺🇸⚾️
What a crazy few days. I found out Peace Corps was sending me home (temporarily) Friday morning, traveled 32 hours halfway across the world and arrived in Tennessee just 2.5 hours before @briannam28‘s wedding. I had been mentally preparing myself to miss this day for almost a year and I’m honestly still shocked by how the past few days have unfolded. But, despite the jet lag and exhaustion, I’m so thankful things worked out I got to be here celebrate with them!
Enjoying the sights, sounds and food of Kathmandu. New blog post about some of my favorite adventures in the city so far 🇳🇵(link in bio) #nepal #kathmandu #city #temple #travel #food
From England, to South Korea, to Tennessee, it’s been a year full of adventures, counting down until we see each other again and a whole lot of FaceTime calls. Long distance is challenging, but this guy somehow makes it the easiest thing I’ve ever done. @nicklucas92
This tap supplies water to about 15 households in my village. And for the fourth day in a row, there’s no water. Adapting to life in a rural village is hard in a lot of ways, but learning to cope with water scarcity and its far-reaching impacts has, by far, been the hardest. Check out my new blog post about how water scarcity impacts my day-to-day life in village (link in bio) #nepal #water #climatechange
